Under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGS), rural households are legally entitled to 100 days of guaranteed wage employment per financial year.
How to apply:
- Submit Form 1 application to your Gram Panchayat Secretary or Block Development Officer (BDO).
- The Gram Panchayat verifies household details and issues a free Job Card with photograph within 15 days.
Required documents:
- Adult members (18+ years) residing in the rural Gram Panchayat.
- Aadhaar cards of all adult household members willing to do unskilled manual work.
- Smart Family Ration Card copy.
- Individual or joint savings bank account passbook (or Post Office savings account).
- Passport-size photographs.
- Wages are credited directly into the worker's Aadhaar-seeded bank account.
