Setting up temporary retail cracker shops during Deepavali or public exhibition pandals requires mandatory temporary fire safety clearance.
Start online (fastest):
- Apply on tnfrs.tn.gov.in under 'Temporary Fire Clearance' at least 30 days prior to the event.
- Upload site layout sketch, land ownership / rental permission, and local municipal clearance.
Mandatory safety norms:
- Stalls must be constructed with non-combustible materials (asbestos or tin sheets; thatch is strictly prohibited).
- Minimum 3-meter safety clearance distance from adjacent structures.
- Must keep 2 buckets of sand, 2 buckets of water, and two 5-kg ABC dry chemical powder fire extinguishers on site.
- The local Station Officer inspects the site and issues the temporary safety certificate.
